Consignments of chitin, chitosan and their derivatives\u00a0for importation into or transit through the Union shall be accompanied by health certificates.<\/p>\n

In order to comply with the latest set of rules relative to chitosan importation, we now provide health certificates fully compliant with Europe’s customs\u00a0regulation.<\/p>\n

Types of veterinary certificates<\/h5>\n

For non food applications<\/strong> : chitosan is considered as an animal by product and the\u00a0veterinary certificate must be compliant with the Commission Regulation (EU) No 142\/2011<\/a> implementing the\u00a0Regulation (EC) No 1069\/2009<\/a>. Pharma, cosmetics, industrial and agriculture projects essentially fall into the scope of this regulation.<\/p>\n

For human food applications :\u00a0<\/strong>chitosan\u00a0\u00a0is considered as a product of animal origin intended for human consumption. Certificate requirements are laid down in Regulation (EU) 2016\/759<\/a>.\u00a0Note : By extension, products\u00a0certified\u00a0for human consumption can also be used in non food projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
